## Description

WSP has immediate openings for On Call Field Archaeologists for multiple surveys planned in Reno, NV. This is an on-call, as needed, temporary hourly position with an hourly rate starting at $20, depending on North American CRM experience and regional archaeological experience.

Your role will involve providing local technical assistance for the collection, identification, and compilation of artifacts, observational, and spatial data concerning archaeological and historical sciences. You will assist with field investigations relating to construction, infrastructure, transmission, energy, pollution control, emergency response, and preserving the quality of the environment by identifying, controlling, and preventing disruption to resources of cultural and scientific significance.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting with collecting, identifying, and compiling artifacts, observational, spatial, and archaeological data from field sites for projects, investigations, and surveys.

- Maintaining quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurement and documentation.

- Performing basic professional archaeological work relating to cultural resources.

- Generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebooks.

- Complying with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.

Requirements:

- Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or a closely related field.

- Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience.

- 0-2 years of archaeological or anthropology-related experience.

- Self-motivated, physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions.

- Competent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities.

- Basic proficiency with business writing, office automation, and communication software, technology, and tools.

Preferred qualifications:

- Prior experience with archaeological sites in Nevada and the surrounding region.

- Pre-Contact lithic artifact identification and analysis; post-Contact artifact analysis.
