## Description

The Business and Strategy Analytics team at Visa is seeking a Data Science Senior Manager to partner with the Asia Pacific Regional President's Office. The successful candidate will focus on driving value from Visa's unique data assets to strengthen and extend Visa's impact in the payments landscape for the Japan market.

As a Data Science Senior Manager, you will be required to use your business acumen along with analytical skills to deliver data science projects that solve Visa's business objectives. You will draw fact-based insights and make actionable recommendations that reflect the business and context. Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the annual strategic planning process and development of long-range revenue growth plans

- Analyzing Visa data, market reports, and benchmarks to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities

- Developing long and short strategic plans and formulating strategic projects

- Supporting functional teams by identifying priorities and implementing necessary strategies to achieve financial year targets

- Managing and troubleshooting reporting via data dashboards and performing root-cause analysis to resolve data discrepancies

- Partnering with Japan leadership teams to formulate and execute key strategies for the market

- Collaborating with various Visa product, sales, consulting, marketing, and government engagement teams

The ideal candidate will have:

- At least 10 years of analytical expertise in applying statistical solutions to business problems

- A postgraduate degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering

- Experience working with real-world data sets and building scalable models from large-scale data

- Hands-on experience with multiple data analytics and data science programming tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Hive, R, Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.

- Proficiency in data visualization and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

- Knowledge of statistical and data science techniques such as neural networks, gradient boosting, logistic regression, and advanced forecasting techniques

- English and Japanese language proficiency in formal business communication (verbal and written)

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

- Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data-driven quantitative methodologies

- Experience in cards/payments, retail banking, or retail merchant industries

- A team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style with the ability to tailor data-driven results to various audience levels
