## Description

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist. In this role, you will lead end-to-end delivery of AI/ML engineering solutions, accountable from design and build through production support and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI/ML engineering solutions, accountable from design and build through production support and measurable outcomes.

- Own architecture and technical strategy for scalable, secure data/AI platforms (batch + streaming) aligned to HSBC engineering standards and controls.

- Design and build high-performance, cost-efficient data pipelines on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Airflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage) with resilience and observability.

- Implement MLOps across the full lifecycle: CI/CD, automated testing, reproducible training pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and rollback.

- Deliver production-grade GenAI solutions (LLMs, RAG, agentic/multi-agent patterns) using orchestration frameworks (LangChain/LlamaIndex), prompt engineering, and robust evaluation.

- Apply strong data and search engineering: PostgreSQL/pgvector (vector + hybrid search, indexing, metadata filtering) and graph databases (e.g., FalkorDB) for graph modelling and queries.

- Drive performance optimisation using Redis caching and tuning for throughput, latency, and cost; apply rigorous model evaluation (precision/recall/F1, ROC/PR-AUC, calibration).

- Embed engineering excellence and governance: coding standards, reviews, test coverage, documentation, SLOs/incident management, plus security-by-design, compliance, and data governance for regulated environments.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

- Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on engineering practices and governance.

- Proven experience in application architecture and data management.

- Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in banking or financial services.

- Technical acumen in cloud computing, CI/CD pipelines, and software development lifecycle.

- Ability to influence and drive changes within a complex organisational structure.

- Strong analytical skills to assess engineering practices and recommend improvements.
