## Description

We are seeking an IT Post Trade Systems Lead to join our team. As a purpose-driven company, HKEX aims to connect, promote, and progress our markets and the communities they support for the prosperity of all.

The successful candidate will lead the architecture and end-to-end delivery of mission-critical post-trade systems, covering clearing, settlement, and risk-related capabilities for cash equities. You will manage a team of developers, drive technical excellence, and deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions across the full software development lifecycle, including production support.

**Responsibilities:**

- Lead solution architecture and system design for high-availability, high-throughput post-trade platforms and services.

- Take full ownership and accountability for delivery across the SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation); manage delivery across complex stakeholder groups.

- Drive parallel delivery across multiple workstreams by planning, prioritising, and coordinating resources across internal teams and vendors where applicable.

- Provide engineering leadership on modern backend practices (microservices, cloud/container, messaging/streaming) and enforce coding, security, and quality standards.

- Collaborate with cross-functional technology and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical designs and implementation approaches.

- Manage production support of mission-critical systems, lead production incident and problem management (investigation, resolution, root cause analysis, and prevention), and drive continuous improvement for stability and performance.

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum 10 years of relevant hands-on experience in system design and development. Experience in driving greenfield project implementations in financial services is highly desirable.

- Minimum 3 years in management and/or technical leadership capacity, with proven experience leading developers and owning delivery outcomes.

- Strong track record delivering mission-critical systems with complex stakeholder environments; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java engineering, including API design, concurrency, performance tuning, and troubleshooting production issues.

- Strong experience with microservices architecture, containers/Kubernetes, and messaging/streaming (e.g., Kafka, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ); solid understanding of cloud-native patterns is preferred.

- Familiar with modern DevOps/engineering toolchains (e.g., source control, CI/CD, unit/integration testing, static analysis, artifact management) and quality practices.

- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.

- Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders in large organisations.

- Proven ability to unify and lead teams with diverse skill sets, fostering motivation and inspiration.
