## Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Legal Services for a dedicated, enthusiastic Planning Lawyer to join the team at Islington Council. The primary function of the post will be to work collaboratively with colleagues across services dealing with planning and highways projects.

The Planning Lawyer will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or FILEX, specialising in planning and highways law and related legislation, with experience of advising planning committees. The post involves responding to a rapidly changing environment, requiring adaptability, flexibility, and prioritisation of tasks on a daily basis.

Responsibilities include:

- Dealing with both contentious and non-contentious planning and highways matters

- Handling section 106 agreements, planning appeals, and judicial reviews

- Collaborating with colleagues across services
