## Description

The Government & Education (G&E) Advisor is responsible for driving public sector membership growth and success. This role serves as a key partner to local market sales teams to develop and evolve the government and education sales and retention strategy within specific aligned market areas.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

- Activates public sector sales distribution strategy within aligned markets.

- Builds and maintains partnerships and relationships to grow and retain public sector business.

- Contributes to pipeline and prospect development with local market sales leadership.

- Reports on pipeline development and sales process advancements.

- Engages with segment underwriting, legal, and product leadership as needed.

- Ensures superior RFP product with consistent engagement with RFP Proposal Response Team.

- Involved in market strategic planning and business development meetings.

- Serves as liaison between local market leadership and G&E leadership.

- Maintains deep understanding of government dynamics and competitive landscape.

- Builds long-term pipeline within specific market alignments.

- Articulates Cigna healthcare value proposition to current and prospective public sector clients.

- Acts as point of contact for procurement matters with new and existing customers.

- Engages with broker consultants and develops diverse supplier relationships.

- Conducts pre-RFP work influencing Cigna's position and understanding of government and education prospects.

**Qualifications**

- 6+ years of sales, account management, or business development experience, preferably in healthcare or insurance.

- Experience with product knowledge, underwriting, risk and financial analysis, marketing processes, sales practices, account management, and administrative operations.

- Exposure to local government procurement and elected official relationship dynamics is preferred.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.

- Health and Life insurance license, or ability to obtain within 180 days.

- Proven ability to influence, communicate effectively, and establish relationships.

- Demonstrated ability to develop strong matrix partner relationships and deliver results.
