### Heat Treatment Team Leader

Xtrac is seeking an experienced Heat Treatment Team Leader to join our team. As a Heat Treatment Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of heat treatment specialists and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our heat treatment processes.

**About the Role**

As a Heat Treatment Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

- Delegating and managing workflow to achieve the required levels of quality and output

- Ensuring that operations carried out by your team and visitors are conducted in accordance with relevant safety documentation or policies

- Coordinating with the H&S team or department manager to escalate any issues or incidents

- Maintaining accurate records and reports

**Day to Day**

- Ensure that operations carried out by your team and visitors are conducted in accordance with relevant safety documentation or policies

- Ensure safe working practices are in place by liaising with the H&S team or department manager to escalate any issues/incidents

- Ensure that any daily/weekly/monthly checks are completed

- Ensure that new team members are trained in accordance with the company and work area induction pack

- Be responsible for ensuring your team always maintain clean and tidy work areas (using 5S methodology)

- Participate in and utilise your skills to solve work-related problems by generating RFCs, investigating NCRs and scrap booking reasons

- Ensure your team members report any quality/manufacturing issues to the manufacturing support department

- Ensure that written processes, procedures, and standards are kept up-to-date and reflect best practice

- Ensure that team members adhere to written processes, procedures, and standards

- Ensure that set-up sheets are in place and used correctly

- Ensure that all measuring devices in your team's area are within calibration date, any items out of date shall be made available for calibration

- Assist the department manager to maintain department KPI's

- Be responsible for managing your team's workload and adherence to the 'Work to List Rules' to ensure the department KPI's are met

**About You**

- Leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development

- Good understanding of the heat treatment process

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Good understanding of manufacturing principles

- Working with ERP Systems

- Ideally having good understanding of Lean Manufacturing Tools (5S)

- Understanding of transmission components

**Where this role could take you**

- Progression to department manager

- Gain understanding of metallurgy basics

- Will experience a wide range of all parts manufactured at Xtrac

- Will work close with and gain knowledge from other team leaders, senior heat treat technicians and metallurgists

- Work with production managers, quality, planning, production engineering and manufacturing engineering team
