## Description

We are seeking a Welder, Combination, Maintenance to work on a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization project, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The successful candidate will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

Responsibilities:

- Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.

- Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.

- Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.

- Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to position pieces that require welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.

- May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.

- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

- Participates in special projects, as required.

Requirements:

- High School Diploma/GED

- 1+ years of related experience

- US Citizenship Required

- MIG which Aluminum GMAW, Flux core FCAW carbon steel and stainless, Stick weld carbon steel stainless SMAW

- Preferred experience in TIG all metals GTAW, CUNI and copper/face feed Certification in Brazing

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.50 - $34.50.
