## Description

As a Principal Associate, Data Science in Capital One's Model Risk Office, you will partner with a cross-functional team to identify and quantify risks associated with models.

You will leverage a broad stack of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, and Spark, to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Building machine learning models to challenge existing champion models

- Contributing to the model governance framework for the next generation of machine learning models

- Presenting model risks to executives

- Validating a wide variety of models across multiple business domains

The ideal candidate is innovative, creative, technical, statistically-minded, and a data guru. You should have experience with open-source languages, cloud computing platforms, and data science solutions.

Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative field, plus relevant experience in data analytics.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD in a STEM field, experience with AWS, Python, Scala, or R, and machine learning.

This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
