## Description

We are seeking an Employment Lawyer to join our Legal Services team at London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. You will undertake and manage a full caseload of legal work in the area of Employment Law and progress to conclusion.

Responsibilities:

- Carry out research and provide legal advice on Employment Law matters

- Negotiate and agree, draft, prepare and process legal agreements and documents

- Provide legal support to the Council to enable and facilitate the provision of high-quality legal service

- Prepare, negotiate, draft and agree routine legal documentation and forms

- Provide legal advice in relation to and prepare formal Legal Implications for reports

- Undertake advocacy such as directions appointments and applications for order by consent

- Actively undertake fee-generated work

- Work/share with the team out of hours cover over holiday periods

- Undertake cross-working with other teams within specialised areas

Special requirements for this post:

- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister or equivalent e.g. FILEX with Employment Law specialism

About you:

- Responsible to the Principal Employment Lawyer for delivery of legal advice and casework in the area of Employment Law

- Support the service in the delivery and development of Legal Services
