## Description

The GPS Head of Engineering is a hands-on SME engineering role responsible for owning and driving the engineering strategy and delivery quality for GPS.

The Payments Services Technology team, based across 10 countries, facilitates payments processing, sanctions screening, and clearing and settling of payments via SWIFT and in-country Domestic Payment schemes.

Key responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a scalable elevated architecture to accelerate business delivery

- Provide thought leadership on DevOps and AI development methodologies

- Manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders across Technology, Ops, and Business teams

- Ensure strong operating environment for high-quality delivery, faster time-to-market, and continual productivity improvements

- Lead proactive risk management culture and provide SME knowledge in cloud-based micro-service architecture

The ideal candidate will have 13+ years of leadership experience in technology and architecture, preferably in Banking and financial services, with a strong understanding of API technology, containerisation, microservices, and regulatory requirements.
