As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will report to the Workshare Manager and assist the Senior lead as directed and as necessary. If appointed as Project Manager, you will prepare Project Quality Plans, organize and lead the Design Team, coordinate with clients and consultants, and ensure incorporation of agreed changes in drawings/specifications. Key responsibilities include: - Preparing and self-checking reports/designs in accordance with project requirements and compliance to appropriate codes - Checking proper works of subordinates for accuracy and adherence to structural design intent and assumptions - Providing drawings/sketches for own designs and producing sketches to incorporate in drawings by Technicians - Ensuring designs are correctly interpreted and represented in drawings - Reviewing and incorporating comments of Design Checker - Researching design options and documenting findings - Reviewing shop drawings - Collaborating and coordinating with team members and other disciplines - Attending and participating in WSP meetings as required - Performing quality design checks and drawing reviews as required - Organizing, drafting, and coordinating technical documents and reports - Working towards continuous improvement of the team by utilizing standardized calculation systems - Carrying out site inspections as instructed - Undergoing relevant trainings as directed - Complying with all role-specific SHEQ obligations - Applying legislations, standards, guidelines, and project specifications Requirements: - Technical competence commensurate with a Senior Engineer’s role - A Registered Civil Engineer recognised by the relevant licensure regulatory board - Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Applications - Good English communication skills - Management ability relative to management of workload, systems, and junior staff Experience, skills, and organisational knowledge: - Minimum 8 years’ experience in the design of multi-level residential, commercial, and institutional projects - Experience in the design of both reinforced and post-tensioned concrete and structural steelwork - Experience in design software including RAPT, RAM Concept, Microstran, and ETABS - Has worked within an international design office and familiar with the Australian Standards is a plus - Ability to check documentation accurately and in a timely manner - The ability to work as a team player, working with a wide variety of personalities and situations whilst remaining professional and outcome-focused - The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members, colleagues, and consultants - Attention to detail and the ability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes - Experienced in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of projects - Self-aware of limitations and when to ask for help, balanced with confidence to proceed - Basic use of BIM Software and how to use and review models - Demonstrated ability to apply safety in design processes on projects - Experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size - Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships - Experienced in applying QA and OH&S systems - Auditing of other more junior staff - Contributed to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organization - Developing experience in managing small teams - Active participation in IQBE initiatives and Discipline Plans - Working knowledge of WSP's organisational capability and how to access it - Working knowledge of systems, procedures, and practices - Working knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics, and safety ## Skills ### Required - RAPT - RAM Concept - Microstran - ETABS - Windows - Microsoft Applications - English ### Nice to have - Australian Standards - BIM Software --- Source: [Apply at emit.fa.ca3.oraclecloud.com](https://emit.fa.ca3.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_2001/job/98567?utm_source=yubhub.co&utm_medium=jobs_feed&utm_campaign=apply)
