## Description

Backcountry has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join its Warehouse team as a Merchandise Processor at its Virginia Fulfillment Center (VFC). The role involves packing orders, loading packages into trailers, and handling gear from receipt to shipment. The position offers weekly pay, gear discounts, overtime possibilities, and a path to a permanent role.

The Warehouse Associate will:

- Stand and walk for the entire shift

- Read and audit labels

- Identify, count, and sort packages and inventory accurately

- Understand and differentiate between shipping methods and sort packages accordingly

- Use automated packaging equipment

- Participate in team meetings and follow guidance

- Maintain a clean workspace

- Fix problems to ensure inventory and shipping accuracy

- Resolve inventory issues by adjusting inventory

- Perform other duties as assigned

- Participate in LEAN initiatives

The role requires:

- High school diploma or equivalency

- Verbal and written comprehension of English

- Fundamental math skills

- Ability to apply established procedures and follow oral/written instructions

- Independence without direct supervision

- Computer skills, including internet and email familiarity

- Experience operating power industrial equipment (e.g., standing order picker or forklift)

The position is seasonal, with a maximum employment period of six months. Three full-time shift options are available:

- AM: Mon-Fri, 6:30a-3:00p, $16.00/hr

- PM: Mon-Fri, 1:30p-10:00p, $16/hr + $1.85/hr shift differential = $17.85/hr

- WKN: Sat-Tue, 6:30a-5:00p, $16/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential = $18.00/hr
