## Description

We are seeking a Senior Service Now Software Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

**Purpose of the role** As a Senior Service Now Software Engineer at Barclays, you will design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

**Accountabilities**

- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

- Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

- Staying informed about industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contributing to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

**Requirements**

- Experience with ServiceNow platform and ability to understand the core CSDM model, platform upgrades, security model, and how integrations work via APIs.

- Certified CSA and CAD admin and developer to lead and build functionality as a sole lead without supervision.

- Understanding of all programming languages and data models to a very good level, and ability to follow best practices in an enterprise setting.

**Highly valued skills**

- Experience with CSM module in FSO context.

- Experience working in an enterprise-regulated industry.

- Good experience with AI models and ability to work with tools like GitLab Duo and Claude Code.
