## Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data. As a Data Engineer at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence.

**Purpose of the role**

The purpose of this role is to build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

**Accountabilities**

- Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete, and consistent data.

- Design and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.

- Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.

- Collaboration with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.

- To advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.

- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver work that impacts the whole business function.

- Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.

**Requirements**

- Strong experience in SAP BusinessObjects Administration and Support.

- Hands-on experience with SAP BO BI 4.x platform administration.

- In-depth knowledge of Central Management Console, File Repository Server & Information Design Tool.

- Experience with SAP BO installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

- Good understanding of Windows Server administration.

- Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.

- Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills.

- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks Platforms.

- Familiarity with ITIL-based support frameworks.

**Nice to Have**

- Experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 upgrade projects.

- Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik platforms.

- Experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting).

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release automation.

- Experience in SAP BusinessObjects Administration and Enterprise BI Platform Support.
