## Description

As a Support Engineer at Sourcegraph, you will be at the forefront of the customer experience, resolving technical issues and educating customers on our product. You will work closely with our customers, who are developers, to troubleshoot and solve reported issues, and contribute to improving our product and handbook documentation.

Within one month, you will learn about our product, our value propositions, our customers, our team, and our practices. You will also learn how Sourcegraph is deployed, product configuration and integrations, our code base, and common user needs. You will meet with teammates and start working with customers to troubleshoot and solve reported issues.

Within three months, you will work with customers to troubleshoot and solve reported issues, and contribute to improving our product and handbook documentation. You will also start to observe trends causing issues for our customers and suggest remedies.

Within six months, you will observe trends causing issues for our customers and suggest remedies, and suggest improvements for team onboarding and ongoing enablement, improving the customer experience, and/or improving the product.

You will be a problem solver, enjoying trying new technologies, breaking them, and helping fix them. You will have profound curiosity to figure out why something works the way it does, and a strong understanding of databases, especially SQL. You will be able to communicate complex technical ideas and decisions to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical.

You will have 2+ years of experience in a similar role, and proficiency in communicating complex technical ideas and decisions to a variety of audiences. You will also have some experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tooling, and how they work.

Nice to have: foundational knowledge of APIs and/or Git, foundational knowledge of cloud computing with AWS, GCP or Azure DevOps, experience writing code in Go or another language, basic knowledge of or experience with Perforce, and basic understanding of AI tools and how developers use them.

This job is an IC2, and the compensation for this role is $42,400 USD base. In addition to our cash compensation, we offer equity and generous perks & benefits.
