## Description

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our Acquisition Credit Strategy team at Barclays in Gurugram.

As a Data Scientist - AVP-Acq. Credit Strategy, you will play a key role in driving innovation and excellence across the organisation by leveraging data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from our data reserves.

**Responsibilities**

- Identify, collect, and extract data from various sources, including internal and external sources

- Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure data quality and suitability for analysis

- Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing

- Design and conduct statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data

- Develop and implement predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science

- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness

- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function

- Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraise performance relative to objectives, and determine reward outcomes

**Requirements**

- Strong knowledge of Python, SAS/SQL, AI tools, or other relevant statistical tools, PowerPoint, and Excel

- Analytical experience in the financial services industry; credit card acquisitions experience preferred

- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

- Attention to detail

- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders

- Project management skills

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

**Preferred Skills**

- Previous experience in the Financial Services Industry and Credit Risk Management, preferably in the Retail Point Of Sales and Equal Pay Loan segment

- Strong analytical, technical, and statistical skills with proven ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information
