## Description

We are seeking licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) program as Mission Ready Reserve counselors to support Joint Base Lewis McChord WA.

As a Mission Ready Reserve MFLC, you will provide non-medical support, including counseling, consultation, and outreach, to military children and families. This is a unique opportunity to serve a vital role in supporting U.S. military service members and their families as they work through important military life adjustments.

**Responsibilities:**

- Provide face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families (individual, couples, family, and children)

- Be visible at assignments, supporting military-connected students, parents, and staff

- Recommend appropriate referrals and handoffs based on your experienced differential clinical skills to military and community resources

- Offer presentations to address social skills development and social emotional learning

- Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials

- Build rapport with service members, spouses, and children by attending installation and community events

- Help children with transition adjustments

- Participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned

- Communicate information regarding trends and issues at assigned installation to Team Leads

**Additional Job Duties:**

- Respond to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation

- Traverse long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations

- Travel to locations outside of a military base

- Comply with various site-specific requirements to work at designated locations

**Requirements:**

- Master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)

- Valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist)

- U.S. citizen

- Pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance

**Pay Range:** $28/hr - $50/hr
