## Description

Wise is a global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. You will be part of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Risk team, developing systems to detect and mitigate Financial Crime globally.

Responsibilities:

- Develop efficient and effective AML detection controls using machine learning and GenAI

- Create frameworks to prove controls coverage at a regional level

- Develop technologies to serve Wise’s diverse international user base

- Work in cross-functional teams to own and solve AML-related problems

- Mentor junior team members on technical and non-technical skills

- Evaluate AML systems against internal and external benchmarks

- Develop decisioning layers to find optimal trade-offs between precision and recall

- Provide data-driven insights on potential outcomes under various scenarios

- Collaborate with operational teams to refine processes and ensure effective feedback integration

- Design and manage projects that utilise excess operational capacity

- Create systems providing in-depth insight to investigators on red flags and typologies

- Package algorithms into deployable libraries and transition them to production environments

- Implement and maintain scheduled processes for data gathering and model retraining

- Maintain production-grade Python services

Qualifications:

- Experience implementing, training, testing, and evaluating machine learning systems

- Strong Python knowledge

- Experience with statistical analysis and experiment design

- Strong product mindset with ability to work independently in a cross-functional environment

- Good communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas to non-technical individuals

- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to refine problem statements and solve them
