## Description

We're seeking an Oracle Database Engineer to join our Circulation Tech team of 9, consisting of Project Managers, Business Analysts, BI and ORACLE and Software Engineers. As an Oracle Database Engineer, you will be responsible for becoming the ORACLE PL/SQL and ORACLE APEX 24.2 technical expert for applications, BAU delivery, enhancements, developments, and the primary contact for the business.

The Marketforce applications are bespoke and purpose-built, on the foundations of Oracle (19c)/ ORACLE Forms, ORACLE APEX 24.2, and WebLogic 12.2.1.3.0 and Microsoft .NET technologies, using both waterfall and agile methodologies. The exception is our BI reporting tool, Business Objects XI (BOXI), a proprietary SAP product.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide technical expertise in ORACLE PL/SQL and ORACLE APEX 24.2 for applications, BAU delivery, enhancements, and developments

- Collaborate with the business and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

- Develop and maintain database systems

- Work closely with other engineers to provide secondary cover for other applications

Requirements:

- Experience in database development using Oracle PL/SQL

- Strong SQL writing skills and data analysis using SQLPlus/ Toad/ SQL developer

- Experience writing complex and optimal SQL queries

- Experience in debugging and performance tuning PL/SQL code

- Experience in Oracle Forms 12c (Oracle Fusion Middleware)

- Experience with ETL processing, data extraction, transform and load

- Working knowledge of partitioning and materialised views

- Must have experience of working in support environment with good problem-solving and analytical skills

- Must show fluency in working within standard procedures and within a project life cycle

- Must have knowledge of database best practices
