## Description

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the SIW Platform team at Okta, which is responsible for building and maintaining secure web experiences for end-user authentication and access.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the technical execution and architecture of the Okta Sign-In Widget (SIW) platform, ensuring it meets enterprise-grade standards for security, scalability, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the product roadmap and translate complex business requirements into a sustainable technical strategy.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the technical execution and architecture of the SIW platform

- Define the long-term strategy for the SIW platform

- Lead the design and implementation of core platform features and foundational framework components

- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other Principal Engineers to shape the product roadmap

- Spearhead the resolution of complex technical challenges

- Champion technical excellence and innovation

- Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness

- Write clean, modular, well-tested, and maintainable code

Requirements:

- 8+ years of software development experience

- 5+ years of experience designing and building complex, enterprise-grade web applications

- Demonstrated experience as a technical leader

- Deep mastery of the modern frontend ecosystem, including React and TypeScript

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity

Technical Qualifications:

- Familiarity with modern frontend stacks, including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and tooling such as Webpack or Vite

- Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3

- Familiarity with server-side languages such as Java or C#

- Familiarity with testing frameworks and a commitment to writing comprehensive tests

- Understanding of web security principles, secure coding practices, and accessibility standards

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
