## Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Splunk AI Canvas team. As a hybrid role, you will work both onsite and remotely. You will build and enhance production-quality features for Splunk AI Canvas, develop responsive and accessible user experiences, design and implement AI agents and workflows, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.

Responsibilities:

- Build and enhance production-quality features for Splunk AI Canvas

- Develop responsive and accessible user experiences using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and modern web engineering practices

- Design and implement AI agents and agentic workflows that use data, tools, and multi-step reasoning

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across Splunk and Cisco

- Test, debug, monitor, and improve software across the development lifecycle

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field plus 5 years of related experience; or Master's degree plus 3 years of related experience

- Experience developing and delivering production software using TypeScript or JavaScript and React or a comparable modern web framework

- Experience designing or integrating RESTful or HTTP-based APIs in a cloud-based or distributed software product

- Experience writing automated unit and integration tests and using source control and continuous integration tools in an agile software development environment

- Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects in development or production environments

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience developing products for observability, cybersecurity, search, analytics, or data-platform users

- Experience with Python, Java, or Go and with containerized or cloud-native applications

- Knowledge of designing, building, testing, evaluating, or operating AI agents and agentic workflows

- Experience creating agentic experiences using large language models, tool use, orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or related technologies

- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar
