## Description

Priory Hospital Market Weighton has an opportunity for a part-time chef to join their team. The role involves working 24 hours per week, with a two-week rota that includes Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays in one week, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the other.

The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team, contributing to the smooth running of the hospital and supporting patient wellbeing. Key responsibilities include:

- Planning, preparing, and cooking meals, considering special requests and dietary requirements

- Ensuring compliance with food safety policies and guidelines

- Taking full shift responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Head Chef

- Controlling stock efficiently, including ordering food products and reconciling deliveries

The ideal candidate will have:

- NVQ Level 2 in Catering (or equivalent) and a Basic Food Hygiene qualification

- Previous experience in a professional kitchen

- Experience preparing meals for large groups to a high standard

- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations

- Excellent organisation and time management skills

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Beneficial experience includes:

- Catering within a healthcare or care home setting

- Knowledge of specialist diets

- Experience ordering stock and controlling food costs

- Supervising or supporting kitchen staff

- Menu planning and creating nutritious meals
