## Description

Zscaler, a leading company in accelerating digital transformation, is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join its team. This hybrid role, located in Bangalore, IND, reports to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering in the Federal and Sovereign Clouds department.

As a Staff Engineer, you will work with cloud architects to build scalable, high-performance backend applications for the cloud engineering organization. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's multitenant architecture and global footprint for the world's largest cloud security platform.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs.

- Ensure code quality by writing and maintaining unit, integration, and performance tests; monitor, debug, and optimize system performance.

- Mentor junior engineers, foster their growth, and uphold best practices through active participation in code reviews.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to Agile/Scrum processes.

- Participate in on-call rotation to support a highly available engineering platform and ensure compliance with federal guidelines.

**Requirements:**

- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience with AI-driven solutions.

- 5+ years of experience with proficiency in coding with Java/Golang or similar.

- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

- Expertise in designing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills for creating robust solutions.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience with LLMs or AI code-assistance platforms.

- Strong understanding of DevOps automation workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
