This position works on-site at our Scottsdale, AZ location.

Claims Intake Processing Representative - performs claim documentation review, verifies policy coverage, assesses claim validity, communicates with healthcare providers and policyholders, and ensures accurate and timely claims processing. Contributes to the efficient and accurate handling of medical claims for reimbursement through knowledge of medical coding and billing practices and effective communication skills.

**Primary Responsibilities**

- Sorting interoffice and regular mail by department

- Opening and extracting, copying, taping down the items within the envelope

- Scanning in the mail in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures

- Printing letters and stuffing envelopes

- Operate mailroom equipment, including:

- Mail slicing machine

- Scanners

- Printers

- Envelope openers

- Maintaining integrity of claims receipts in accordance with standard claims operating and adjudication procedures

- Working within turnaround times to meet client performance guarantees for claims processing. Meeting productivity and accuracy standards.

**Required Qualifications**

- 1 year of experience Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software

- Must be able to lift 20 - 35 pounds

- Ability to pay very close attention to detail

- Must be able to access multiple systems online

- Ability to reach, twist, turn, bend, stoop, and walk

- Understand modern office practices, procedures, and equipment

- Possess the ability to work as a team member, but also independently at times with limited direction

- Successful at working in a fast-paced environment

- Maintain flexibility and/or the ability to work overtime as needed to meet timelines

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Previous PBM Experience

- 1 year of claims experience (medical or dental claims experience)

**Education**

- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
