## Description

We're looking for a Staff Engineer for our Messaging Experience team, responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving Canvas, our flagship product.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between the customer-facing dashboard and the underlying orchestration engines which power delivery.

Responsibilities:

- Partner on the technical vision and quality bar for the division

- Drive architectural direction, define best practices, and ensure teams have a clear path to resolving persistent quality and technical debt issues

- Lead large, ambiguous projects end-to-end

- Support maturing channels

- Mentor engineers at every level

- Champion reliability and operability

- Deliver code

Requirements:

- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time as a technical leader influencing multiple teams or complex product systems

- Experience building foundational backend systems at scale and working on complex and performant web-based user interfaces

- Comfortable working across the full stack

- Experience in Ruby on Rails and proficiency in modern frontend environments (TypeScript, React)

- Designed and shipped foundational infrastructure

- Strong architectural judgment

- Effective communicator and mentor

Recent and ongoing work across the division includes:

- Developing shared frameworks for our orchestration tools

- Evolving the dashboard to support real-time feedback and sophisticated automated flows

- Building platforms and code-generation tooling

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $184,000 - $299,812/annually, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $204,000 - $332,400/annually.
