## Description

The UK AI Security Institute (AISI) exists to make frontier AI systems secure, trustworthy, and beneficial for society.

You will join AISI's Workplace Technology team, a sub-team of Business Operations, which is part of the Talent & Operations directorate.

The team has three missions:

- Identify and strategise: Work out what software and systems AISI needs, and how they should be run and governed.

- Procure, build and integrate: Buy or build the tools AISI needs, get them through government security and assurance, and automate the workflows that cause the most friction.

- Enable and upskill: Help staff adopt new tools and ways of working, and raise the quality of AI use across AISI.

Examples of the team's current work include:

- Connecting AI assistants to everyday work tools

- Improving the AI assistant platform

- Automating identity and access

- Rebuilding operational workflows

- Evaluating and deploying new AI tooling

- Fixing tech issues that cause a lot of friction

- Shaping AISI's long-term technology

The team is looking for someone with solid software engineering experience, who enjoys improving the way people work, thinks in systems, and prioritises well.

Essential skills include:

- Solid software engineering experience

- Experience improving workflows

- Systems thinking

- Prioritisation and follow-through

- Clear communication

- Good judgement about risk

- Critical use of AI

- Building trust within and across teams

Desirable skills include:

- Experience with enterprise IT or platforms

- Experience in government or a similar environment

The salary range is GBP 56,850 - 68,570 per year.
