Electronic Arts creates incredible entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans worldwide. Here, everyone is part of the story, part of a community that connects people from all over the world. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are welcomed, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes the game possible.

Golf Clash has been entertaining millions of players for over 9 years, and the goal is to continue providing exciting new features and content to fans for many more years to come. If you want to create games for millions of players to enjoy on the go, then this is the job you've been looking for! The company is committed to constantly improving working practices and collective knowledge through training and supporting each other.

The company is seeking a seasoned Lead Engineer to drive technical evolution forward. Collaborating with the Technical Director, you will execute a studio-wide engineering productivity strategy by delivering advanced tooling, automation, and optimised workflows. Your mission is to empower engineers, artists, and designers to accelerate delivery, enhance product quality, and future-proof studio operations.

This is a broad, hands-on technical role spanning engineering tools, AI-enabled workflows, content creation pipelines, build and release systems, engine development, observability, and studio-wide developer productivity.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with the Technical Director to execute the studio's engineering productivity and workflow transformation strategy by driving the evolution of studio tooling, automation, and content pipelines to accelerate content creation and iteration.

- Improve creative feedback loops and authoring workflows to help reduce the time from idea to player value.

- Leverage AI and automation to streamline engineering, content creation, and operational workflows, applying emerging technologies where they deliver measurable improvements in productivity and quality.

- Develop and evolve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering workflows that improve reliability, quality, and release velocity.

- Build and maintain highly visible dashboards and operational tooling that communicate the health of the product and the production pipeline.

- Develop profiling, diagnostics, and optimisation tooling that helps teams understand performance, memory, and technical budgets across the game.

- Work closely with client, engine, server, DevOps, QA, design, art, and production teams to deliver improvements that benefit the entire studio.

- Build strong technical partnerships with EA central technology teams and partner studios, adopting common capabilities where appropriate while contributing improvements back into the wider EA ecosystem.

- Promote engineering excellence through maintainable architecture, automation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders.

- Prioritise engineering initiatives by evaluating technical work against measurable ROIs, ensuring efforts directly contribute to business outcomes and product goals.

Must Haves:

- Significant professional software engineering experience, ideally within games or another technically demanding industry.

- Experience building engineering, production, or operational tooling, such as dashboards, build systems, CI/CD pipelines, or developer workflows.

- Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to work across a broad range of technologies.

- Experience collaborating across disciplines including engineering, design, art, and production.

- Experience taking ownership of ambiguous technical problems and turning ideas into practical, adopted solutions.

- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies, tools, and programming languages.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams and disciplines.

Bonus Points:

- Experience working with C++, scripting languages, and web technologies.

- Experience working on live service games.

- Experience developing tools for game engines or proprietary technology.

- Experience building content creation pipelines for artists or designers.

- Experience with build systems and release automation.

- Experience developing profiling, diagnostics, or performance analysis tools.

- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.

- Practical experience integrating agentic workflows into software engineering or content creation workflows.

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including physical, emotional, financial, professional, and community well-being support. Benefits are tailored to meet local needs and may include medical insurance, mental well-being support, pension plans, paid holidays, family leave, free games, and more.
