## Description

Howden is seeking a Claims Handler to join their Cardiff or Swansea teams. As a Claims Handler, you will play a vital role in delivering detailed and efficient claims service to clients.

Responsibilities:

- Handle commercial motor claims from start to finish, demonstrating expertise in insurance policies, coverage types, and claims procedures.

- Collaborate with different teams and external vendors to facilitate timely and efficient claims resolution.

- Apply analytical skills to analyse claims data, identify trends, and develop strategies to reduce risk and enhance claims management processes.

- Foster positive relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, and industry partners to improve customer satisfaction.

- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in claims handling processes.

- Present reports and presentations highlighting key performance indicators.

- Conduct on-site visits to clients in the event of a loss, investigating circumstances and building robust claims.

- Negotiate with insurers to secure the best possible settlement terms under the policy.

Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of commercial motor insurance policies, coverage types, and claims procedures.

- Brokerage experience.

- Client relationship management expertise.

- Understanding of general and legal principles of insurance.

- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and legal frameworks.

Skills:

- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Customer-focused approach.

- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.

- Confidence, assertiveness, and resilience under pressure.

- Experience in providing care and emotional support to clients.

Qualifications:

- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

- A level qualification desirable.

- Possession of CII & CILA certifications considered an asset.
