## Description

We are seeking an Instructional Aide to join our team at Toledo Preparatory Academy. As an Instructional Aide, you will assist teachers with classroom activities and help promote positive student behaviours in academics and extracurricular activities.

The successful candidate will provide oversight to ensure student safety and a positive school climate. You will work closely with teachers and school leaders to administer assigned duties in line with ACCEL Schools' philosophy and policies.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting lessons taught by teachers to individual students or groups

- Helping plan classroom activities as directed by teachers

- Assisting with school events and activities

- Performing clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies

- Maintaining classroom cleanliness

- Implementing the school's philosophy and mission statement

We expect our Instructional Aides to:

- Work cooperatively with teachers and others

- Act in accordance with directives from administrators and teachers

- Contribute to a positive school culture

To be considered, you should have:

- An associate degree or two years of college coursework, or have passed the Paraprofessional's Exam

- Proficiency in MS Office

- Successful completion of BCI/FBI checks

- Ability to meet educational standards

- Strong organisational and communication skills

- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs

- Experience in a school or social services setting is desirable
