## Description

We are seeking an Applications Engineering Engineer to join our team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. As an Applications Engineering Engineer, you will support customers using Synopsys implementation tools like Fusion Compiler and IC Compiler II, helping them debug timing violations, routing congestion, floorplanning issues, and power/area tradeoffs.

You will analyze customer design flows from RTL to GDSII, reproduce issues in-house, and work with internal engineering teams to resolve tool-related or methodology challenges. You will also review tool logs, identify root causes of failures or performance bottlenecks, and provide clear technical guidance to customers on next steps.

Additionally, you will develop and deliver technical documentation, application notes, and best practice guides based on customer engagements and recurring issues. You will participate in customer meetings, debug sessions, and technical reviews, representing Synopsys as a trusted technical resource.

You will collaborate with product engineering, R&D to escalate complex cases and contribute to product improvement based on real-world customer feedback. You will also build internal knowledge through hands-on work with synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and physical verification flows.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of digital design fundamentals and the RTL-to-GDSII physical implementation flow. You will have knowledge of synthesis and physical design concepts including timing closure, floorplanning, place and route, and congestion analysis.

You will be able to work in Linux/Unix environments and navigate command-line workflows. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required, as you will be working directly with customers and internal teams.

Hands-on experience with Fusion Compiler, IC Compiler II, or similar industry-standard implementation tools is a strong plus. Scripting experience in TCL, Python, Perl, or Shell is also a plus and will help you automate tasks and debug faster.
