You will be part of the Food & Beverage team, ensuring products are fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. As a Cake Decorator, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities: - Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments - Greet guests, help them find what they need, and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience - End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you - Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude - Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience - Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations - Execute Food & Beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, and merchandising - Engage with guests to capture and fulfil their customised cake orders - Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards - Produce, package, and label items to specifications on production cards - Prep, ice, and decorate cakes and cupcakes to place on the sales floor - Follow all food safety requirements - Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to Target's policies and procedures - Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales - Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory - Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment - Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance - Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible - Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up, and Drive-up The role of a Cake Decorator can provide you with the skills and experiences of: - Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture in food - Building guest relationships and converting interactions into sales through sampling, special orders, and creating unique designs - Building in cake and dessert trends, including seasonality, guest preference, and flavour - Monitoring sales of products and adjusting production to drive efficiency, profitability, and minimise waste - Cake decorating fundamentals This may be the right job for you if: - You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests that shop in your store and fellow team members you work with - You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem-solving are key to success - You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Cake Decorator.
