## Description

We are seeking a Chief Accountant to join our team in Saitama, Japan. As a Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accounting team has clear written defined assignments and job descriptions, and that targets are agreed upon and met.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Local management and support of accounting projects, such as SAP FI projects and implementation/updates of accounting tools

- Ensuring performance appraisals are conducted fairly and with clear feedback

- Linking compensation to performance and ensuring fairness in comparison with market values

- Building a highly engaged team to drive performance

Requirements:

- Relevant accounting qualification (Certified Management Accountant)

- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience

- Strong knowledge of Japan tax legislation, local GAAP, and IFRS

- Mandatory SAP (FI, CO, COPA, and BI) and ideally HFM user knowledge

- Structured and well-organized individual

- Result and performance-oriented

- Fluent English communication skills

- Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, cross-functional teams, and global technical teams

- Self-motivated, self-directed, flexible, and able to work under pressure
