## Description

Anthropic's Safeguards team plays a critical role in ensuring AI systems are deployed safely and responsibly.

As an Incident Manager, you will manage Safeguards incidents involving AI systems from declaration through closure.

Key responsibilities:

- Serve as incident commander for Safeguards incidents from declaration through closure

- Assess incident severity and coordinate responders across teams

- Track input from each team and send regular updates

- Consult with Legal, Communications, and Public Policy before decisions

- Run post-incident reviews and track action items

- Oversee the on-call queue and participate in after-hours incident coverage

- Improve the incident response program and automate routine work

Minimum qualifications:

- Experience running incidents or urgent escalations in trust and safety, security, or a comparable field

- Hands-on experience with incidents involving product abuse or misuse

- Ability to make clear decisions under time pressure and coordinate across functions

- Experience improving operational processes and automating tasks

- Willingness to participate in after-hours incident coverage

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with incident response functions and writing runbooks

- Experience with AI systems and enforcement steps

- Working knowledge of SQL or similar tools for analyzing data

- Experience designing tabletop exercises

The annual compensation range for this role is $245,000-$285,000 USD.
