## Description

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our Engineering Department at Green Coast Hotel, a luxury beachfront hotel located in Palasë, Albanian Riviera.

As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the hotel's Engineering Department and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems, equipment, and facilities.

**Main Responsibilities and Duties:**

### Engineering Operations & Preventive Maintenance

- Lead daily operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building management systems.

- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and technical equipment.

- Ensure reliable operation of power supply, generators, water systems, heating and cooling, lifts, and other critical infrastructure.

- Oversee maintenance of pools, SPA facilities, kitchen and laundry equipment, and beach-related hotel facilities.

- Respond promptly to technical faults, guest maintenance requests, and emergencies.

- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment records, service histories, and inventory of spare parts and engineering supplies.

- Coordinate with other departments to schedule works and maintain high standards of property appearance, functionality, and guest comfort.

### Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure engineering activities and building systems comply with Albanian laws, safety regulations, and hotel policies.

- Oversee fire and life-safety equipment, emergency systems, inspections, testing, and relevant maintenance records.

- Establish safe working procedures and ensure correct use of protective equipment by staff and contractors.

- Coordinate emergency response procedures, technical risk assessments, and corrective actions arising from inspections.

### Budgeting, Sustainability & Project Management

- Prepare and monitor the Engineering Department budget, maintenance expenditure, and capital improvement proposals.

- Track utility consumption and implement initiatives to optimize energy and water efficiency.

- Manage external contractors, service providers, quotations, procurement requests, and service contract performance.

- Plan and supervise repairs, refurbishments, and technical improvement projects.

### Team Leadership & Quality Standards

- Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate the engineering team.

- Conduct regular property inspections, prioritize maintenance needs, and report technical risks and performance to hotel management.

- Ensure compliance with hotel standard operating procedures, Accor/MGallery brand requirements, and established quality standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

### Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

- At least 5 years of relevant engineering or facilities maintenance experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.

- Experience in hotel or resort engineering, preferably within an upscale or luxury hospitality environment, is strongly preferred.

### Technical Skills

- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life-safety, and building management systems (BMS).

- Ability to implement preventive maintenance plans, troubleshoot technical issues, and supervise contractors and service providers.

- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, technical compliance requirements, and energy-efficiency practices.

- Proficiency with maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office.

### Soft Skills

- Strong leadership, team development, and cross-departmental collaboration skills.

- Excellent analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.

- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to remain calm, respond effectively to emergencies, and work in a demanding hotel environment.

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:** The company provides accommodation in a shared apartment, daily transportation between the accommodation and the hotel, and two meals per day on working days. Additionally, the company covers round-trip flight tickets from the candidate's home country, including airport transfers upon arrival and departure.
