## Description

We are seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner Scrub – Cardiac Thoracic to join our team at Bupa Cromwell Hospital in South West London.

The successful candidate will provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team, participating in the assessment of patient care needs and implementing and maintaining agreed standards of care.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the positioning and preparation of patients as directed by the surgical team

- Help control cross-infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilization procedures, and asepsis

- Participate in induction and orientation programs for new staff

- Assist team leaders in the personal development plans of junior staff

- Prepare patients for clinical/operative procedures

- Provide assistance in clinical/operative procedures

- Provide immediate post-operative care

- Provide initial emergency care as required

- Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner

- Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use and report any faults

- Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues

Key Skills/Qualifications:

- RN – 1st level Registration Adult and/or Children

- HCPC OR NMC registered

- Minimum of 5 years Scrub Cardiac Thoracic experience

- Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies

- ODP Level 3 NVQ

- ODA 752
