## Description

GSK is seeking a Principal Engineer to build and run its network segmentation and identity-based access platform as automated, secure, self-service infrastructure.

The role involves building and automating platform infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and golden paths, using AI-assisted engineering across code generation, review and testing, and engineering reliability in by automating away toil.

Key responsibilities include:

- Building and automating platform infrastructure

- Using AI-assisted engineering to accelerate delivery and raise quality

- Building self-service capabilities and paved roads to reduce friction for consuming teams

- Engineering for reliability by automating to reduce toil

- Adopting engineering standards, secure-by-default practices and code quality within the platform

- Contributing to incident response and driving permanent automated fixes

- Working with principal engineers and partner engineers to link engineering work to platform OKRs and outcomes

The ideal candidate will have:

- A degree in a technology or engineering discipline

- Relevant technical certifications desirable

- Hands-on platform engineering experience in cloud, network or digital workplace

- Automation-first and secure-by-default engineering experience

- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and containers

- Strong experience in engineering enterprise network security, segmentation or identity-based access
