## Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team. As an SDET, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our applications.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and reliable test automation frameworks

- Create and execute automated tests for backend services, REST APIs, integrations, and end-to-end user workflows

- Design automation strategies for complex application features, including interactive maps, geospatial data, dynamic visualizations, and other non-standard UI components

- Validate cloud-native applications deployed on AWS and ensure system reliability across distributed architectures

- Troubleshoot application and test failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently

- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for high-quality software releases

- Partner closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to promote quality throughout the entire SDLC

- Advocate for quality as a shared engineering responsibility

Minimum Qualifications:

- 6+ years of experience in Software Development and Test Automation

- Strong programming skills in JavaScript and/or TypeScript

- Extensive hands-on experience on automation frameworks like Cypress or Playwright

- Experience with API testing tools such as REST Assured, Supertest, or equivalent frameworks

- Strong knowledge of AWS services

- Hands-on experience working with AWS services, including AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB

- Experience validating, troubleshooting, and testing applications deployed in AWS environments

- Ability to work independently, take ownership of testing initiatives, and deliver high-quality solutions with minimal guidance

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience testing microservices and distributed systems

- Experience validating interactive maps, GIS/geospatial features, data visualizations, canvas-based applications, or other highly interactive user interfaces

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Salary transparency: For Canada-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $84,000 and $123,200.
