## Description

The Department of Paediatric Dentistry at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a full-time 8 PA Locum Consultant Paediatric Dentist to join our enthusiastic and forward-thinking team. This is a fixed-term appointment for one year.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive, high-quality clinical service to patients within the specialty of Paediatric Dentistry. The principal duties of this post include:

- Providing a consultant-led specialist oral healthcare service for Paediatric Dentistry

- Participating in clinical and other service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care

- Managing waiting lists appropriately for patients requiring oral rehabilitation under general anaesthesia

- Coordinating the care of patients requiring oral rehabilitation under general anaesthesia

- Playing an active role in the clinical supervision, training and education of junior staff

- Contributing to the development and management of clinical services within the specialty

The post holder will also be responsible for:

- Maintaining patient confidentiality

- Undertaking the duties outlined in the agreed job plan

- Being responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources

- Completing all relevant Trust induction and mandatory training programmes

- Providing advice to the Executive Team and Trust Board, General Practitioners and other relevant stakeholders

The salary for this post is £113,565 to £150,569 per annum.

## Skills

### Required
- Paediatric Dentistry
- GDC Specialist Register in Paediatric Dentistry
- FDS/MFDS or equivalent qualification
- Accreditation in Paediatric Dentistry
- SAC-approved training programme or equivalent
- Professional registration and licence to practise

### Nice to have
- Experience of provision of treatment with conscious sedation / general anaesthetic
- Experience of provision of care for children with complex needs
- Experience of management of surgical cases
- Experience of management of dental trauma
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
