## Description

As a Principal Data Scientist at Capital One, you'll lead the next wave of disruption using the latest computing and machine learning technologies across billions of customer records.

**Responsibilities**

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver products customers love

- Leverage technologies like Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark to reveal insights in large datasets

- Build machine learning models through all development phases

- Translate complex work into tangible business goals

**The Ideal Candidate**

- Is innovative, staying current with emerging technologies and seeking opportunities to apply them

- Is creative, defining big problems and finding answers

- Is technical, comfortable with open-source languages and cloud computing platforms

- Is statistically-minded, with experience in model building, validation, and interpretation

- Is a data guru, skilled in retrieving, combining, and analyzing data from various sources

**Basic Qualifications**

- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field plus 5 years of data analytics experience

- Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of experience

- PhD in a quantitative field

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Master's or PhD in STEM field

- Experience with AWS, Python, SQL, Deep Learning Frameworks, Natural Language Processing

**Salary Information**

- McLean, VA: $161,800 - $184,600

- New York, NY: $176,500 - $201,400

- San Jose, CA: $176,500 - $201,400
