## Description

As part of the AI & Data Engineering group, our team builds internal and customer-facing AI focused web applications for monitoring, onboarding, workflow management, and reporting across LSEG's real-time data and delivery estate.

You will design, build, and enhance AI enabled backend services, RESTful APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and reporting solutions using Java (Spring Boot) and Python.

Key responsibilities:

- Take ownership of features from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Collaborate with participants, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to understand requirements, challenge assumptions, and propose effective technical solutions.

- See opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve operational efficiency.

- Maintain and improve application reliability, security, performance, documentation, and overall technical health.

Requirements:

- 4 to 7 years of professional experience building and supporting production software in enterprise environments.

- Strong experience in Java (Spring Boot) and good working knowledge of Python.

- Experience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.

- Strong SQL and relational database experience (PostgreSQL or similar), with exposure to Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse technologies.

- Experience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD pipelines, code quality practices, and modern software delivery processes.

- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven architecture using technologies such as Kafka, Redis, or similar platforms.

- Understanding of secure coding practices, common application vulnerabilities, authentication, and authorization concepts.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and participant engagement skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development, prompt and context engineering, LLM APIs, AI agents, MCP, and RAG-based solutions, with a responsible approach to correctness, security, privacy, and maintainability.
