## Description

We are seeking a Mobile Engineer 5 to join our team at Capital One. As a Mobile Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of driving a major transformation across the enterprise.

You'll partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing, quality features for 100M+ customers that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity. You'll also partner with product leaders to influence multi-quarter engineering roadmaps, architect and build core components and shared libraries, and contribute to standards for cross-platform consistency, scalability, and accessibility.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing, quality features

- Partner with product leaders to influence multi-quarter engineering roadmaps

- Architect, build, and maintain core components and shared libraries

- Contribute to standards for cross-platform consistency, scalability, and accessibility

- Serve as a subject matter expert in critical areas like mobile performance, networking, or platform-specific UI frameworks

- Partner with infrastructure and backend teams to define and improve mobile CI/CD, observability, and reliability engineering practices

- Define strategies for leveraging agentic AI tools across multiple teams

- Mentor and guide senior engineers in building AI-native workflows

- Apply mastery of the modern mobile ecosystem to make complex, high-leverage, hands-on technical contributions

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field

- At least 6 years of professional experience in software engineering, mobile architectural design and project execution

- At least 6 years of experience building native mobile applications for Android or iOS

- At least 3 years of experience architecting or leading the development of federated native mobile applications

Preferred Qualifications:

- Significant experience building native mobile applications for Android or iOS

- Proven experience with modern native UI frameworks

- Proven experience with designing and building automated testing suites for mobile

- Proven experience with modular architecture and modern state management patterns

- Proven experience with performance tuning and optimization on native mobile platforms

- Experience providing technical leadership for a large product area

- Experience leading the design of multi-team components or contributing to shared SDKs

- Experience developing and scaling client Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs)

- Working knowledge of on-device ML frameworks

- Expertise in release health indicators, metrics-driven staged rollout, and feature flag strategies

- Expertise with agentic AI coding tools and developer productivity patterns
