As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members and ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience. The starting pay range for this position per hour is $25.00 - $27.00, and the full pay range for this position per hour is $25.00 - $42.50. Pay is based on several factors, including labour markets, education, work experience, and certifications. As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for: - Consistently delivering guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring, and Friendly guest experience - Ensuring every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target's guest experience commitments and consistent operations - Actively observing and providing feedback, holding team members accountable while recognising great guest experience moments - Reviewing area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, taking action to improve, and aligning team on the right behaviours and execution - Leading the execution of daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement - Educating team members on how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability - Assessing reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and assisting to develop a plan to resolve - Being an expert of operations, accuracy, process, and efficiency - Assigning daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns - Establishing clear goals and expectations and holding team members accountable to expectations - Helping with efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfilment work accurately - Enabling a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor - Staying informed about relevant trends and products to educate team members - Evaluating candidates for open positions and developing a guest-centric team - Identifying team members for future leader positions and utilising growth development to build a talent pool within your department - Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfilment processes - Demonstrating inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches - Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, following all Target policies and safety procedures - Leading and demonstrating a safety culture through modelling and recognising safe behaviours - Modelling the execution of physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture We are looking for someone who: - Enjoys interacting and helping others - Thrives in a fast-moving, highly active, and physically demanding role - Is open to working a variable work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts - Has a high school diploma or equivalent - Is 18 years or older - Has previous retail experience (preferred but not required) - Can lead and hold others accountable - Can communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment - Can work independently and as part of a team - Can manage workload and prioritise tasks independently - Has a welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and other team members - Has effective communication skills Target offers eligible team members and their dependents comprehensive health benefits and programs, including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, and more.
