## Description

As a MS SQL DBaaS Engineer at GDIT, you will have the opportunity to build strong lines of systems engineering and develop your skills using cutting-edge technologies.

Your work in engineering at GDIT will have an impact on securing our clients' missions and ensuring we anticipate the threats of tomorrow.

You will be charged with providing a roadmap for the customers' future DBaaS infrastructure, Microsoft SQL Server, database-as-a-service (DBaaS) platform, database management, data migration, maintenance solutions to manage DIA database infrastructure, including maintaining and managing the enterprise SQL server farms and stand-alone databases.

**Responsibilities:**

- Guide users in developing requirements, evaluating alternatives, and supporting feasibility assessments

- Analyze user requirements, concept of operations, and system architecture to produce system requirements specifications

- Lead system design and development activities, ensuring alignment with engineering and operational needs

- Support system development and implementation planning, including system engineering management, integration, and test plans

- Update and maintain existing systems, test functionality, resolve deficiencies, and improve data handling, integrity, input processes, and storage

- Collaborate with Government stakeholders on system engineering issues, risks, and technical decisions

- Provide documentation, testing, and maintenance for system updates, modifications, and configurations

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or 8+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree

- 5+ years of related experience

- Engineering experience in the design, development and implementation of software development tools, solution testing, system performance analysis, data/workflow analysis, and requirements derivation

- Developing detailed design documents, test plans, implementation plans, and SOPs

- Cloud/server/network implementations and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environments

- Privileged access management

- Configuration of Granting privileged Access, Configuring Active Directory Services (ADDS), Group Policy, Objects, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), File Sharing services, Active roles Server (ARS)

- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

- Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (e.g. Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, etc.)
