## Description

As a Senior Research Engineer at 3M, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

You will lead the development and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models to enhance understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer in 3M's material handling, energy transport, products, and processes.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading the development and application of CFD models

- Collaborating with a cross-functional team of application engineers, scientists, and process engineers

- Developing and validating CFD models to assist formulators and engineers

- Initiating and contributing to the analysis and development of intellectual property

Requirements:

- Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or other Science areas

- Three years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or other Science areas

- Three years of experience in computational fluid dynamics

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

- Experience with Python or another programming language

- Fundamental understanding of material handling, energy transport, and fluid flow

- Understanding of High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments

- Experience with integrating Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) with CFD models

- Familiarity with Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) models and reduced-order models
