## Description

As a New Product Innovation (NPI) Market Development Manager at 3M, you will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world to lead Voice of Market work and define new growth spaces by uncovering unarticulated unmet customer needs.

The person hired for this position will work closely with NPI Market Development Engineer, Global Product Managers, technical teams, and cross-functional partners to shape opportunity hypotheses, apply AI-enabled tools, and advance qualified concepts through early key NPI gates.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading global Voice of Market efforts through engagement with customers, channel partners, industry participants, and internal commercial teams.

- Defining and prioritizing market spaces using trend, customer, competitive, segmentation, sizing, growth, and AI-supported analysis.

- Building a balanced opportunity pipeline, identifying 2–3 large NPI opportunities annually across established, adjacent, and emerging growth spaces.

- Developing and validating opportunity hypotheses, value propositions, target markets, and early business cases with product and technical partners.

- Communicating concise, fact-based opportunity narratives that influence prioritization, resource decisions, and progression through key NPI gates.

The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay.
