## Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Engineer to join our Space team. As a Thermal Engineer, you will own the thermal design, analysis, test, and associated component vendor management of a space hardware development program.

Your key responsibilities will include defining good thermal architecture to withstand space environments, executing hand calculations, spreadsheet, and MATLAB/Python first-order models to inform the path forward, and developing internal tools to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of analysis. You will also develop, prepare, and execute thermal tests to inform analysis and reduce risk on key hardware assemblies.

To be successful in this role, you will have a BS, MS, or higher degree in engineering, applied physics, or a hard science, and demonstrated knowledge of heat transfer in an academic and/or professional setting. Proficiency in Thermal Desktop or an equivalent thermal simulation tool is also required. Experience with CAD, selecting instrumentation, post-processing data, and correlating models is essential.

Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of professional experience as a thermal analyst using Thermal Desktop, design or test experience on a space platform, and experience developing code in higher-level languages like Python or MATLAB for applications like lumped thermal capacitance steady-state and transient analysis.
