## Description

The Software Engineer 2 develops, tests, and maintains software applications that support business and technology objectives. This role is part of a collaborative engineering team focused on building and enhancing applications that support cybersecurity and identity access management initiatives. The successful candidate will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services

- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through deployment and support

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions

- Develop and support front-end and back-end application components

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues while ensuring optimal performance

- Perform code reviews and follow established software engineering best practices and coding standards

- Create and maintain technical documentation

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement

- Support cybersecurity and identity access management initiatives through application development and enhancement efforts

- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance quality, efficiency, and user experience

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

- 3+ years of software engineering, application development, or related experience

- Experience developing both front-end and back-end applications

- Experience with JavaScript and modern web development technologies

- Experience working within Agile software development environments

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

- Experience supporting cybersecurity or identity and access management (IAM) solutions

- Experience with cloud-based application development

Work Arrangements:

- Remote Nationwide position

- Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required

- Must have a dedicated workspace with minimal interruptions and internet speeds of at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range: $80,900 - $110,300 per year
