## Description

As a Senior Associate, Data Scientist on the Beyond AML Modeling & Innovations (BAMI) team at Capital One, you will leverage AI to modernize and transform risk assessment. The BAMI team, within the Enterprise Risk Organization, uses machine learning and data science to design and deploy innovative solutions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric products

- Utilize a broad stack of technologies, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, to analyze large datasets

- Build and implement machine learning models throughout the development lifecycle

- Translate complex technical work into tangible business goals

**Ideal Candidate:**

- Innovative with experience in emerging technologies and state-of-the-art methods

- Creative problem solver with strong interpersonal skills

- Technical expertise in open-source languages and cloud computing platforms

- Statistically-minded with experience in model building, validation, and interpretation

- Experience handling big data from various sources and structures

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science)

- 2+ years of experience in data analytics or related field

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master’s or PhD in STEM field

- Experience with AWS, Python, Scala, R, machine learning, and SQL

**Salary Information:**

- McLean, VA: $135,600 - $154,800 per year

- Richmond, VA: $123,300 - $140,700 per year
