## Description

Join the Princess Alexandra Hospital's Education team as our Clinical Practice Facilitator for Midwifery (maternity cover) - we're looking for a highly organised midwife to nurture lifelong learning and the future midwifery workforce.

The Clinical Practice Facilitator for Midwifery will be responsible for developing, supporting and overseeing midwifery placements for pre-registration midwives, return to practice midwives, those undertaking the shortened midwifery course and allied health student placements.

Key responsibilities:

- Be the identified link in practice for all pre-registration, Shortened Midwifery Course and Return to Practice learners to promote a culture of supporting learners in practice throughout midwifery.

- Contribute to effective partnership working between the practice placement areas and Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in collaboration with the Head of Education.

- Be up to date with SSSA guidelines and understand the assessment process for learners.

- Promote feedback and dialogue between the Trust and HEIs, ensuring feedback following clinical placements is received and acted upon.

- Assist supervisors, assessors, practice educators and departmental managers to facilitate the integration of theory and practice within the clinical environment.

- Establish and explore strategies to enhance the clinical learning environment, including facilitating teaching and support sessions.

- Ensure all learners receive a robust induction and orientation to placement areas.

- Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines applicable to learners' placements.

- Maintain presence in the maternity clinical area by delivering direct patient care, including direct student supervision.

The post is a fixed-term contract for maternity leave, weekday hours only, and has manager on-call responsibilities (approximately 2 on-calls per month including nights and weekends).
